HELPING THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED PEOPLE OF EASTBOURNE AND DISTRICT

Welcome to the Eastbourne Blind Society Website

HOME

Eastbourne Blind Society is a user-led organisation, responsive to the ideas and needs of its members - a local registered charity for blind and partially sighted people who live in the Eastbourne area.

Mission Statement

We are an independent charity, committed to providing access to services, support, encouragement and information to those with visual difficulties. We also seek to serve the needs of their carers and families.

We make no charge for membership.

Membership of the Society is not restricted to those who have been registered as sight impaired or severely sight impaired. We will welcome all those who have a registerable eye condition and will be glad to provide advice and support to anyone who is concerned about their vision.

Through membership of the Society we will encourage the development of independence, providing opportunities for people to feel less isolated and more confident.

If you know of anyone who has a visual impairment and might not be aware of our services, please pass on our details or contact us directly.

We will be pleased to talk to anyone who would like further information.

As an independent local charity, we rely on donations, legacies and fund-raising to cover the cost of providing the services we offer to our members. Gift Aid donations are especially helpful because we are also able to claim back income tax, thereby significantly increasing the value of your gift.

If you would like more information, please contact the Chief Executive, Mrs Deirdre Dean, on 01323 729 511 or by post.
